House Idle 3 yrs later ?

I’ve seen a few comments here that after 3 years you have rights to the property ? Just wondering what is that about ?
Myself and husband were declared bankrupt in early 2016 and the house is still idle nearly 3 years later. The mortgage is still in our names and on the credit report.
I contacted the bank a few weeks ago on this and also spoke to them about the possibility of taking back on the mortgage as there are no rentals available for us. I would be happy to move back in and pay the...
